Security Camera Notice
As disclosed in detail on our Airbnb and VRBO profile, we have cameras on the property.
Since this is an active residence and we are secluded, we have cameras for safety purposes on the exterior and a single interior camera to monitor the cottage when it is unoccupied.
As guests on the property, here are the details of where cameras are located and what we adjust for your stay so you are well informed:
1. BARN -
The exterior camera pointing toward the barn open space is scheduled to be disabled the morning of your arrival. Since this camera sits above the patio area, it is disabled for guest privacy. Animals, such as coyotes, mountain lions, and bears travel through this open space, so be sure to let me know if you’d rather keep the camera on and set for motion alerts to warn of any dangerous animal presence.
2. INTERIOR -
We have an interior camera located on the stairwell that points into the living area. We use this to monitor the fireplace and have an eye on the place when the cottage is unoccupied. For your stay, the interior camera on the stairwell has been taken down, disabled, and stored in the hallway cabinet. Please feel free to inspect the hall cabinet to verify the camera is in there for peace of mind. You’ll see the wall mount on the stairwell where the camera mounts. There are no other cameras on the interior.
3. RAVINE -
The exterior camera on the carport that faces the ravine behind the cottage will stay on just in case we get a motion alert - mountain lions, coyotes, and bears travel in the ravine. If we get a motion alert that turns out to be a dangerous animal, we let guests know via text for safety protocol.
4. DRIVEWAY -
The driveway camera that is on motion alert stays on since we are secluded from the road. If we get a motion alert down the driveway of an unidentified vehicle, dangerous animal, emergency vehicle, or any fire-based activity on the main road, we again notify you via text for security protocol.
