**We are secluded in a dense forest in Custer County. The county is currently under a fire ban and fire safety is of the upmost importance in the area. A propane grill and propane fire pit and fireplace Is available for your use - this is approved for use under the fire ban but it must never be left unattended. See more info under FIRE SAFETY.
***We are located in a strict no hunting zone that is enforced by state wildlife officials. Some deer on the property can be seen wearing state tracking devices for monitoring. This is why the deer in the property have very little fear of humans and will interact with you. Hunting or causing injury to wildlife on the property will result in hefty fines. There are potential for bears and mountain lions in the area. There is no cleaning of fish or game in the cottage or on the property. Do not leave food in vehicles or outside the property. See handouts below.
Note: There is a driveway and barn security camera. The barn camera is disabled during guests stays. The driveway camera is for security of property and guests and is enabled at all times. Owners will alert guests if a bear or mountain lion or a unapproved car is approaching the property. There are no interior cameras. There is a caretaker nearby the property for emergency cases. Renee will provide camera details prior to your stay.

Animals
Host is an asthmatic that has the severe condition of anaphylaxis and is unable to host animals. Animal hair, dander, feathers, saliva, and urine poses a life threatening condition well after an animal departs the premise since hair, dander, feathers, saliva, and urine can exist in the interior fabrics, bathroom and kitchen towels, sauna robes, bedding, pillows, carpet, drapes, and furniture. While the entire home is yours during your stay, this is a residence that the hosts return to after guest departure that will cause an extreme health risk and threat. Although the host is equipped with an epipen, this is a rural area with limited emergency services that would be necessary to treat anaphylaxis. This extreme health condition is on record with the hosting platforms.
Children
Insurance and permit restrictions do not allow us to host children at the property due to the safety hazard with the fireplace and staircase. The staircase is not equipped with a lower rail system and the fireplace does not have a barrier to protect little hands from touching the hot unit.
Fire Safety
There are absolutely no wood burning fires allowed at Blue Pine Haven in order to comply with the county's year-round fire restriction. Fire is a very real threat to our area and all guests must abide by rules and practice fire safety. Renee will let you know what stage the area is currently in during high fire danger times. Check out the county's FIRE STAGES to understand the restrictions. There is no smoking allowed, to include vaping, inside Blue Pine Haven. In some high threat times, smoking outside is prohibited by the county so understanding the stages are very important.
Our Custer County Permit requires guests to review the following literature provided by the county. Note: These handouts are also available in the cottage for review.
